European Dressage Horses Now Available in Florida

Discriminating equestrians know that the best dressage and jumping horses come from Holland and Germany. Now, instead traveling to Europe to find the right horse, buyers have a reputable source much closer to home—Van de Bunte Dressage Horses near Ocala, Florida.

The farm’s specialty is exceptional Dutch and German Warmbloods trained in the European style of dressage. The emphasis is on quality instead of quantity, with every horse selected, imported and trained by the farm’s owner, Marjo Van de Bunte.

A Dutch Legacy in America

Marjo’s passion for horses began with recreational riding as a young child in Holland. She worked with many trainers, showed at the Prix St. Georges level and became an accomplished trainer herself. When she immigrated to the United States, she discovered that well-trained Dutch dressage horses were in demand, but not readily available. That was the beginning of Van de Bunte Dressage Horses.

On regular trips to Holland and Germany, Marjo enlists her network of equestrian professionals to find the very best horses to import and train in European-style dressage. She offers a select group of various ages, temperaments and levels of training, including:

  • Horses that are currently schooling and/or showing in upper level dressage. They have the talent to intrigue a professional and a mindset suitable for an amateur.
  • FEI prospects that are schooling and/or showing in the lower levels. They have an excellent foundation and the potential to be highly competitive upper level mounts with additional training.
  • Older schoolmasters that are safe, quiet and easy to ride for amateurs looking for an enjoyable learning experience as they progress up the levels.

An Outstanding Training Environment

Van de Bunte horses are trained and exercised with great care and personal attention by Marjo who has experience in dressage training and riding many different kinds of horses.

The horses are housed in a modern barn with 12 European-style stalls and lead active lives on the 30-acre, family-owned farm. They train in an Olympic-size dressage arena and exercise daily on the farm’s hot-walker, in its five paddocks and along wooded trails.
